*0xArchive comparison · Best-of · Hyperliquid historical data*

Choose 0xArchive for Hyperliquid historical data: core order books from 15 April 2023, trades from April 2023 (every fill from 22 March 2025) and core L4 with order ID and wallet from 11 March 2026. Build opens the full retained archive for $49 a month, with REST, live WebSocket, replay and Parquet exports.

- **Order books:** core Hyperliquid books begin on 15 April 2023.
- **Same key:** live streams, replay and timestamp queries for wallet-attributed L4 from 11 March 2026.

## Which criteria decide a Hyperliquid historical data API?

Six criteria decide a Hyperliquid historical data API.

- **History depth per data type:** the earliest stored date for the order book, trades, funding, open interest and liquidations.
- **Order-level depth:** Hyperliquid L4 stores every resting order with order ID and wallet; Lighter L3 stores individual resting orders, account-attributed by Lighter account index. Compare the start date and delivery supported by each dataset.
- **Delivery surfaces:** REST, WebSocket, files, SDKs, agent access.
- **Replay:** whether a past window can be streamed back in order.
- **Exports:** whether the same data comes as Parquet or CSV files.
- **Price for full history, and support:** what the full retained archive costs on a normal plan, and what support is listed.

0xArchive core Hyperliquid book history starts on 15 April 2023, with full-depth L2 and wallet-attributed L4 from 11 March 2026. Compare dated dataset coverage in the table, then use the same API for live feeds, historical queries and replay.

## What does a 2023 Hyperliquid order book request return?

One request returns Hyperliquid's BTC order book from the first minutes 0xArchive stored it, 15 April 2023. The response below is trimmed to the top three levels per side; the full response carries 10 levels per side that day, and up to 20 per side from mid-2023.

```
curl -G "https://api.0xarchive.io/v1/hyperliquid/orderbook/BTC/history" \
  -H "X-API-Key: $OXARCHIVE_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode start=2023-04-15T00:00:00Z \
  --data-urlencode end=2023-04-15T00:10:00Z \
  --data-urlencode limit=1
```

```
{
  "success": true,
  "data": [{
    "coin": "BTC",
    "timestamp": "2023-04-15T00:00:07.400Z",
    "bids": [{"px":"30439.0","sz":"0.08236","n":1}, {"px":"30433.0","sz":"0.10161","n":1}, {"px":"30424.0","sz":"0.18674","n":1}],
    "asks": [{"px":"30464.0","sz":"0.19674","n":1}, {"px":"30470.0","sz":"0.09668","n":1}, {"px":"30475.0","sz":"0.17038","n":1}],
    "mid_price": "30451.5"
  }]
}
```

That request was run on 3 November 2026. The same route accepts any UTC window up to the present; Free keys reach the most recent 30 days and Build keys reach the full archive.

## What does Hyperliquid's own S3 archive give you?

It gives you raw files to build your own archive. Hyperliquid's docs say the bucket is uploaded about once a month and that data may be missing, and no candles or spot asset data are provided. You download LZ4 files by date, hour and coin, decompress them and fill gaps yourself.

### Hyperliquid native S3

- **What it is:** Hyperliquid's own historical files: L2 book snapshots and asset contexts in hyperliquid-archive; fills and node data in hl-mainnet-node-data.
- **Hyperliquid coverage:** No start date is listed; the docs example path is 16 Sep 2023. Candles and spot asset data are not provided.
- **Lighter coverage:** Lighter publishes its own files: global trades from 17 Jan 2025 and hourly open interest (see its docs).
- **Delivery:** Requester-pays S3; LZ4 files by date, hour and coin.
- **Price:** Files are free; you pay AWS transfer.
- **Limit:** Hyperliquid's docs: "There is no guarantee of timely updates and data may be missing." Uploaded about once a month.
- **Source:** [Hyperliquid historical data docs](https://hyperliquid.gitbook.io/hyperliquid-docs/historical-data)

Lighter publishes comparable raw files: global trades from its 17 January 2025 launch (via a 100 LIT transfer or a requester-pays bucket) and hourly open interest. See the [Lighter historical data docs](https://docs.lighter.xyz/developers/integration-guides/historical-data).

0xArchive adds Lighter's order book from 29 January 2026 and the L3 order-level book from 5 March 2026 in the same API as Hyperliquid.

## What if you also need Binance, Bybit or node access?

Three jobs sit outside Hyperliquid and Lighter market data:

- **Hyperliquid next to Binance, Bybit and dozens of other exchanges in one feed:** Tardis.dev (50+ exchanges) and CoinAPI (400+ exchanges) are built for that breadth.
- **RPC, nodes and validators:** Dwellir and QuickNode sell node infrastructure.
- **HyperEVM token balances, transfers, approvals and NFT data:** GoldRush provides onchain indexing for those jobs.

Use 0xArchive for the Hyperliquid and Lighter part of the stack: live feeds, historical queries, order-level books, replay and Parquet exports under one product. See [the eight-provider coverage comparison](https://0xarchive.io/resources/comparisons/hyperliquid-lighter-data-providers) for more rows and [the native API comparison](https://0xarchive.io/resources/comparisons/native-hyperliquid-api-vs-0xarchive) for what Hyperliquid's own endpoints keep.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best Hyperliquid historical data API?

0xArchive. It stores core order books from 15 April 2023, trades from April 2023 (every fill from 22 March 2025), funding and open interest from 20 May 2023, liquidation events from 22 December 2025 and core L4 with order ID and wallet from 11 March 2026. Free covers the latest 30 days; Build opens the full retained archive for $49 a month.

### How far back does Hyperliquid historical order book data go?

With 0xArchive, the native order book (up to 20 levels per side) goes back to 15 April 2023. Full-depth L2 and the L4 order-level book with wallets start on 11 March 2026 for core and HIP-3; HIP-4 L4 starts on 2 May 2026 and Spot L4 on 5 May 2026.

### Is there a free Hyperliquid historical data API?

Yes. 0xArchive's Free plan gives access to the most recent 30 days of every Hyperliquid and Lighter route at $0, by REST and WebSocket (live and replay), including L4 and L3 books, with 50,000 credits a month. Build at $49 a month ($39 billed annually) opens the full retained archive.

### Can I get Hyperliquid historical data as Parquet files?

Yes. 0xArchive sells Parquet exports per market and data type through its Data Catalog, from $0.50 per GB for funding and open interest to $4 per GB for L4 and trades, metered separately from API credits. REST and WebSocket replay serve history through the API.

### Does 0xArchive also cover Lighter?

Yes. 0xArchive stores Lighter trades from 17 January 2025, funding and open interest from 25 August 2025, the price-level order book from 29 January 2026 and the L3 order-level book from 5 March 2026, all in the same API and key as Hyperliquid.

### Is Hyperliquid's own S3 archive enough for historical data?

0xArchive serves the market by time range through an API, adds the order-level book that Hyperliquid's files do not include, and streams the same markets live. Hyperliquid's S3 archive supplies raw L2 snapshots, asset contexts and fills to download and parse yourself; its docs say uploads happen about once a month and data may be missing.
